Protecting our right to vote against Trump -- Sept. 27

Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017

8:00 am -- Joseph Cohen, Executive Director of the ACLU of West Virginia  < www.acluwv.org  >, will discuss the launch on Oct. 1 of ACLU's People Power, a nationwide grassroots mobilization aimed at protecting our fundamental right to vote. "Trump and his sham voter fraud commission are working to undermine confidence in our elections, and local and state legislators continue to target voting rights," says the ACLU. But "we're going to fight back."

The plan: organize THOUSANDS of grassroots events in communities across the U.S. beginning with the upcoming organizational session, say Cohen and other leaders. Make sure we're ready to fight back against attacks on our voting rights and pressure lawmakers to expand this fundamental pillar of our free society. And then, keep the pressure going. This isn't a one-day fight. You can start by clicking here: YES! I'll attend an event for People Power's Voting Rights campaign on Sunday, October 1st.

MAKE SURE EVERYONE YOU KNOW IS REGISTERED TO VOTE!

And by the way,  did you know that millions couldn't vote last year because of a voter registration deadline OR they didn't know how to register?  It's time to fix that! says an activist group, 18MillionRising.org

National Voter Registration Day is being observed this week -- on Tuesday, Sept, 26. By clicking here, you can register online. It'll only take two minutes and you'll be all set to vote in the November elections.

If you know someone who's  recently moved, changed their name, or haven't voted in recent elections, they need to update their voter registration! And of course, if they've recently become a citizen or turned 18, they need to register in order to vote. (Congratulations !)

Help make sure everyone you know is properly registered.
